(EP News) — The 40 Days for Life campaign started in Bryan-College Station, Texas, in 2004 and has spread to more than 140 cities in the U.S. and Canada. 40 Days for Life, which kicked off Sept. 23, takes a peaceful approach to showing the consequences of abortion through prayer and fasting, vigils and community outreach. “With abortion in the forefront of the national debate during this heated political season, people of faith and conscience are coming out to 40 Days for Life kickoff events and getting involved in local campaigns in record numbers,” said David Bereit, national campaign director for 40 Days for Life. “I am seeing a greater sense of urgency to end abortion in America right now than I have seen in the last decade.” The campaign runs through Nov. 2.
