Youth Devotions with Josh McDowell

He initially intended to pursue legal studies culminating in a political career, and began preparatory studies at Kellogg College in Michigan. As an atheist at college he decided to prepare a paper that would examine the historical evidence of the Christian faith in order to disprove it. However he converted to Christianity, after he found evidence for it, not against it. He subsequently enrolled at Wheaton College, Illinois, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then studied at Talbot Theological Seminary of Biola University, La Mirada, California. He completed an exit paper examining the theology of Jehovah's Witnesses, and was awarded the Master of Divinity degree graduating Magna Cum Laude.

To date, Josh has written or co-written 77 books on topics ranging from Christian apologetics to common problems facing youth. Several are bestsellers and are recognized as leading books on the Christian faith. Among his most popular contributions on apologetics are “Evidence That Demands A Verdict” (which he published in 1972 and was recognized by World Magazine as one of the century’s top 40 books) and "More Than a Carpenter” (his seminary thesis that was written in 12 hours and later published in 1977, and has been translated into more than 50 languages).

McDowell married Dorothy (nicknamed Dottie) Youd, with whom he has several children. They live in Dallas, Texas
